A vending machine, preferably for refrigerated items, comprises a number of disk-shaped carousels 15, arranged inside a cabinet, which are divided into compartments 33 and can rotate individually on a horizontal axle 25. A front and a rear shield 26, 27 partially enclose the lower half of the carousel and leave a gap 28 between them. A flap 30 which can swivel about a horizontal axle 31 extends forward to the bottom edge of the front shield 26 and partially closes the gap 28. The machine is provided with a selector mechanism 42a, b, by means of which one adjusts an actuating mechanism 34, 36, which when activated rotates the selected carousel 15 one step and turns down the flap 30 so that the item 32a located near it can slide out through an opening 19. The machine is provided with a suitable trigger mechanism, such as a coin-operated mechanism 71, 77, which by electric pulses to an electric motor 80 produces an oscillating motion at the arm 36 of the actuating mechanism. <IMAGE> |
