PURPOSE:To obtain an optimum transmission data packet length and to improve the communication efficiency by discriminating a state of a signal propagation path based on a magnitude of a demodulation error vector and applying optimum processing of a transmission data packet length of a MODEM. CONSTITUTION:A data packet length decision device 14 of the system makes a transmission data 15 to a proper packet length, and a modulator 11 sends the result to a signal propagation path as a modulation transmission signal 16. A demodulator 12 demodulates a modulation reception signal 17 received from the signal propagation path into a reception data 18. In this case, based on the demodulation data demodulated by the demodulator 12, a demodulation error vector output device 13 gives a demodulation error vector representing the state of the signal propagation path to the device 14. The device 14 estimates the state of the signal propagation path from the inputted demodulation error vector and sets the data packet length to a packet length optimum to the state of the signal propagation path. A modulator side uses the optimized packet length and sends the packet data to an opposite modulator, then efficient communication is implemented. |
