PURPOSE:To provide a vehicular steering system with the front wheel steering speed proportional to a steering wheel operating angle. CONSTITUTION:The operating angle of a steering wheel 7 is detected by a steering wheel angle sensor 9 and inputted into an ECU 5. The ECU 5 controls the operation of a steering drive motor 4 in such a way that the front wheel steering speed is proportional to the steering wheel operating angle. The torque generated by the steering drive motor 4 operates power steering mechanism 2 through a gear box 3 to steer front wheels 1. At the same time, the steering angle of the front wheels 1 is detected by a front wheel steering angle sensor 6 and inputted into the ECU 5. The ECU 5 operates a steering reaction generating motor 8 so as to provide the steering wheel 7 with steering reaction proportional to the front wheel steering angle. |
