Process for the addition of maleic anhydride to polyalkylvinyl ethers

Maleic anhydride-polyvinylalkyl ether adducts are obtained by reacting, at elevated temperatures, in the presence of radical initiators, maleic anhydride with a polyvinylalkyl ether. The reaction may take place in the presence or absence of inert solvents. The radical initiators used are conventional organic peroxides.
