When winding up plastics foil webs on a winding sleeve the winding device has a first pair of retaining arms (1) which are set opposite each other with the distance of the winding sleeve and serve to hold the winding sleeves (2). A second pair of retaining arms (3) which are spaced from each other by the distance of the winding sleeve also serve to hold the winding sleeves (2). All the retaining arms (13) are of equal length and can be swivelled in pairs independently of each other in the same direction about the same geometric axis.
