PURPOSE:To enable a pseudo correction of a high frequency components which are lost by a picture compression. CONSTITUTION:When the output of an AND circuit 12 is '1', it is noticed that a noticed picture element is an edge part, and when information that the noticed picture element being the edge part is brighter than the surrounding picture elements is obtained by a positive and negative judging part 10, the luminance data Y[x][y] of the noticed picture element are corrected to be much brighter by a luminance correcting circuit 13. On the other hand, when the information that the noticed picture element is darker than the surrounding picture elements is obtained by the positive and negative judging part 10, the luminance data Y[x][y] are corrected to be much darker by the luminance correcting circuit 13. Therefore, the picture element of the edge part is emphasized, so that the pseudo correction of the high frequency components can be executed. |
