The machine spindle nose has a recess (35) into which the flange nut (22) is screwed to secure the wheel, leaving an end space (17") for a drawbar coupling collar (19) with teeth (33) which engage corresponding teeth (34) in the base of the recess. Extending upwards from the collar and passing through a central hole (17') of the spindle is a shaft section (18) of the drawbar, and extending downwards is a hexagonal section (20) keying into the wheel flange. At the upper end of the drawbar is a compression spring (25) loading the coupling collar in engagement with the spindle. In a recess of the housing is a spring-loaded plunger (27) which can be pushed downwards onto the end of the drawbar to disengage the coupling and allow the wheel nut flange to be removed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Wheel nut-flange cannot be accidentally unscrewed by spindle braking. Compact-design unaffected by dirt or rust.
