PURPOSE:To provide a method for providing a heat-sensitive recording layer excellent in transparency. CONSTITUTION:A method for producing a heat-sensitive recording sheet which comprises coating a supporting body with an organic solvent coating liquid containing a colorless or light-colored basic dye and an adhesive agent, or an organic solvent coating liquid containing a coloring agent with is reactive with the basic dye to permit coloration, and an adhesive agent, drying this coat to form an undercoat layer, subsequently coating the undercoat layer with a water-based paint containing the aforesaid coloring agent and adhesive agent in the case of the undercoat layer containing the acidic dye or water- based-paint containing the aforesaid basic dye and adhesive agent in the case of the undercoat layer containing the coloring agent, and drying this undercoat to form a heat-sensitive recording layer consisting of solvent and water. |
