In the redevelopment of old rubbish dumps, where a suspension of flue dust and cement is applied to the dumped material, a netting type reinforcement is secured to the surface of the dump. This is followed by a sealing and neutralising layer of a granular material from a dried reacting flue dust and/or harmful matter and/or a mixt. of them, after they have been satd. in water, and compressed for bonding into the max. density for a solid layer. This gives a seamless sealing layer with a textile reinforcement of a flue dust and cement suspension in a covering with max. solid layer density. ADVANTAGE - The technique allows redevelopment of rubbish dumps with a covering which is durable, resistant to applied weight and flexible yet with a high strength. It gives a covering and a protective layer for further rubbish to be placed over it.
