The vertical hoist boom suspends a vertical load rope (13) and a platform and consists of a length-adjustable boom tube stringer with support leg near the rope end and a counter-weight support tube at the inside end. The actual boom tube is joined to the tube stringer and an angled guy rope (12) runs from the boom tip to the counterweight support and is fixed to it. The guy and load ropes are combined into an integral rope, bearing freely on the boom tip (9) and top end of the counterweight tube (10) at deflecting points (15 - 17). Pref. the combined rope is secured to the counterweight (27). ADVANTAGE - Lightweight structure, flexibility of use, and taking up surge loads.
