PURPOSE:To provide the self-aligning assembly device and method to allow the alignment and assembly of an optical branching coupler which consists of 1st and 2nd optical fiber arrays and further an intermediate circuit plate and requires the alignment at two points thereof. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of the intermediate circuit plate 24 are selectively positioned by an aligning stage 27 side by swiveling the intermediate circuit plate 24 by a swiveling table 22, by which the 1st and 2nd optical fiber arrays 29, 32 are aligned, joined, fixed and assembled to both ends of this intermediate circuit plate 24. The joining and assembling of plural parts by aligning these two parts with one unit of the aligning stage are possible and the working efficiency is greatly improved. |
