PURPOSE:To obtain a toner excellent in color reproducibility, image holding property and color transparency by putting a specific dye in the toner for coloration. CONSTITUTION:A toner for electrophotography contains a dye indicated by the formula and is therefore colored. In the formula, R1, R3 represent hydrogen or a methyl group and R2, R4 and R5 represent the same or different kinds of atoms or groups selected among a group consisting of hydrogen, an alkyl group of carbon number 1 to 8, an alkyl halide group, an alkanol group, an alkoxyl group, an allyl group, an allyl halide group, an allyl ether group, a hydroxyalkyl group, or halogen, a hydroxyl group, or an allyl group of carbon number 6 to 12, an allyl halide group, an allyl ether group and a hydroxyallyl group. |
