Device for controlling the orientation of the slats on a venetian blind. A flexible cable (9) fitted with an end piece (8) is fixed onto a rod (7) which is coaxial with the drum (3) operating the slat pull cord (2). The other end of the cable (9) is fixed to a hub (10) which is mounted so as to rotate freely on an attachment plate (15) having a stop means (18). The hub (10) is integral with a button (19), the inner face of which has a stop means (22) which engages with the stop means (18) of the plate (15). <IMAGE>
