PURPOSE: To distribute a message such as character information and a diagram to a person or a group subscriber through a communication network such as a cable television system. CONSTITUTION: A signal received from the communication network is processed by a subscriber's terminal (converter 42). A received video signal is processed by a 1st route 41 in the converter 42, a message signal is processed by a 2nd route 43 and the video signal of the 1st route 41 and the message signal of the 2nd route 43 are mutually combined by an adder 48. A switch 50 is a normal solid state switch and driven by a microprocessor 56 through a line 72. Any one of the video signal received from the 1st route 41, an output from the adder 48 combining the video signal and the message signal and the message signal outputted from a video display generator 66 is outputted, modulated by a modulator 52 and displayed on the screen of a television. |
