The hydraulic torque-converter (10) has a hydraulic fluid circuit. A housing (15) contains at least one pump-wheel (12) and a turbine wheel (13) and is supplied with hydraulic fluid via a first pipe (20) at a set system pressure. Part of the hydraulic fluid is fed to a gear for lubricating it via a second pipe (21). A transition coupling (11) between the pump wheel and turbine wheel is supplied with hydraulic fluid via a third pipe (23). hydraulic fluid is consistantly fed to the gear via the second pipe in conjunction with a throttle. The first pipe can be blocked to open the transition coupling. ADVANTAGE - The hydraulic torque converter is simplified by having a nearly constant pressure.
