Coded information transmission system using IR light - uses preceding head telegram to identify information telegram format

The transmission system uses IR light to provide an information telegram fed between a transmitter and a receiver. The information telegram has a head telegram preceeding the information telegram data bits and separated from the latter by a pause (3) allowing evaluation of the decoded head telegram bits at the receiver, for determining the information telegram format. Pref. the pause (3) is provided by an increased spacing (6) between the adjacent data pulses (4, 5) of the head and informaton telegrams than that provided by the pulse/pause modulation within each telegram. ADVANTAGE - Increased transmission reliability.
