The clamp consists of a U-shaped bracket (6) in which is guided a moving post (14). The bracket has a foot (T) which slides under the stack (2), and two side pieces (8) joined by cross-pins (9) and (12). Th epost (14) is open on the inward side and is linearly guided between the outer rims of pulley (13) on pin (12) and rollers (10) on pins (9). Two clamps, one on each side, are normally used to lift a stack. The rope or chain sling (4) passes under pulley (13) and up the middle of the post (14), finally latching into the top of the post. When the lift commences, the stack is securely clamped between the feet (7, 16) of the post and bracket. USE/ADVANTAGE - Self-clamping under lifting force. Constant clamping force irrespective of stack height. Does not deform weak plate. Compact design. Can be held in open position.
