PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material excellent in the storage stability of a recording image and the printability to a protective layer by improving the thermal recording material wherein the protective layer is formed on a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A protective layer containing at least polyvinyl alcohol or modified polyvinyl alcohol (1) with a saponification value of 86-95%, modified polyvinyl alcohol (2) with a saponification value of 96% or more and spherical org. pigment (3) with a mean particle size of 0.5-57mum is provided on a thermal recording layer utilizing the color forming reaction of a basic dye and a developer. |
