MAGNETISM DETECTING APPARATUS AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To reduce the assembling steps of a detector and to decrease the manufacturing cost by forming the housing from two molding plastic units. CONSTITUTION: A housing 10 has first and second integral molding plastic units 10A, 10B connected to one another. The unit 10A has a tube including a lateral plate 18 of lengthwise direction at the one end. The plate 18 has a hole 20 for inserting a magnetic sensor assembly 43 into the tube. The unit 10B has a cover 2b opened at one end and including at the opposite side end a tubular handle 1b for grasping the unit by a user. The cover 2b is mounted at the plate, and the open end of the cover 2b is closed to form a casing 14. A magnetic sensor 44 is mounted at a structure member fixed to the chassis of an electric unit 52 mounted in the casing. The sound from the speaker 68 mounted on the chassis is transmitted to the exterior via the handle. An instrument 82 is provided in the unit 52.
