PREPARATION METHOD OF CALCINED BODY MADE BY AL2O3-TICX

A sintered body for cutting tool is prepared by mixing, pulverizing, calcining and sintering the mixing powder of Al2O3, TiC and Y2O3, heat-treating the mixing powder at 200-500 deg.C for 0.5-2 hours under the oxidizing atmosphere of N2 and O2 mixing gas to make TiO2 coating layer on the TiC particle surface, and sintering at 1600-1850 deg.C under Ar atmosphere. The cutting tool is produced at the low sintering temperature. The produced cutting tool has a good toughness, mechanical strength, abrasion-resistance and impact-resistance.
