PURPOSE: To sustain power supply for computer upon instantaneous interruption of power supply by sustaining a capacitor bank in charged state during stable operation of a commercial power supply and discharging energy stored in the capacitor bank upon instantaneous interruption of power supply. CONSTITUTION: Voltage from a commercial power supply 10 is applied to a full-wave voltage doubler rectifier which generates a first DC voltage V1 being applied to a power converter 30. The first DC voltage V1 is applied across a circuit 100 comprising two capacitor banks 110, 120 connected in series. Upon interruption of the commercial power supply 10 due to some cause, the capacitor banks 110, 120 are discharged in order to sustain operation of a power converter for computer power supply. |
