<p>PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of index searching at the time of recording video signals by recording header and address information on the control track of a video tape. CONSTITUTION: When an index switch A is pressed, the then address read from the control track of a video tape is stored in the register 1 of a main controller 610 and, at the same time, a contracted picture is stored in the area 1 of a buffer memory 620. When the switch A is pressed during reproduction, the then address is stored in the register 2 of the controller 610 and a contracted picture is stored in the area 2 of the memory 620. When a search switch B is pressed thereafter, the contracted picture stored in the area 1 of a memory 630 in the register 1 is displayed at part of a screen which is set in a reproduction mode. Since different contracted pictures are displayed successively whenever the switch B is pressed, a desired picture can be found.</p> |
