An emitter rod for the removal of electrostatic charges on surfaces is constructed with a rail 1 which can be shortened in a simple way, and a number of elements 5 which can be attached to the rail 1 and which support sockets 8 for emitter points. Other corresponding elements are arranged without sockets 8 for emitter points, and there are also elements 18 with clamp screws for connecting leads. The elements are all constructed with sheet metal contacts 10 for the transmission of voltage from the leads to the emitter points. <IMAGE>
