PURPOSE:To make degree of whiteness high and improve conservative property for oil and plasticizer by using in a thermal recording layer a material shown by a formula I as a coloring material and making at the same time an epoxy cresol novolak resin expressed by a formula II included. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is constituted of a thermal coloring layer containing an achromatic or hypochromic leuco dye and a coloring material which can make colors by contacting with the leuco dye, disposed on a support body. A coloring material expressed by a formula I and a resin expressed by a formula II are contained in a thermal recording layer. As a compound in the formula I, bis (4-hydroxy phenyl) sulfone is shown as an example. A material expressed by the formula II is added at rate of 0.01-1 pt.wt. to the coloring material of 1 pt.wt. expressed by the formula I. In preparation of coating liquid for forming the thermal coloring layer, water is used as a dispersion medium. The dye, coloring material, and additive are dispersed so as to make the coating liquid. |
