PURPOSE:To improve the performance of a system by disconnecting plural magnetic tape apparatus from a magnetic tape control device, and having locating to a tape mark executed by the device alone. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic tape control device 1 receives a locating command of a tape mark for a magnetic tape apparatus 2 from a channel 10, it emits an instruction to demand locating to the tape mark including the instruction in a tape mark searching direction to the control part 3 of said apparaus 2. When the control part 3 receives this instruction, it demands disconnection to the device 1. The device 1 confirms that the instruction has been received by the disconnection demand from the control part 3, and demand the termination of the command for the channel 10. When the command termination is completed, the channel 10 and the device 1 are released from under use and are able to make respective next inputting and outputting processing. |
