摘要 The photocells (PD) are arranged in vertical and horizontal directions, with VCCD areas between those ararnged vertically. Each of these electrodes is connected at the same time to transfer gate electrodes (TG1,TG2) from neighbouring photo cells on non-straight and straight horizontal lines. A number of stop layers (BL) which correspond to a part of each VCCD area are formed in order to form a desired potential threshold. A HCCD range is formed under the VCCD areas in order to transfer signal leads from the VCCD areas to an end stage. The stop layers (BL) are of the same type of conductivity as the VCCD areas, but have a lesser concn. than them. Alternatively, the stop layers (BL) can be of a different type of conductivity to the VCCD areas, and have a higher concn. than them.
