For the safe operation of the disc brakes of road vehicles, especially commercial vehicles, it is necessary to provide an indication of the wear on or condition of the brake pads; this can be done with the aid of temperature sensor components which, by showing the brake temperature, give an indication of pad wear. To obtain a simple and easily maintained construction, the sensor (19) is preferably fitted in a drilling in the brake caliper (13) or a bracket (23) secured thereto at the outer circumference of the brake disc (1) and at a distance from the outer therefrom. The sensor is adjustable for height at a distance from the outer circumference of the brake disc body and measures primarily radially in relation to the axis of rotation of the brake disc.
