Abridgement An automatic continuous-type developing apparatus has treatment chambers (100;130) sealed dynamically by pairs of rollers (64 to 70, 104 to 108) and sealing lips (86, 88; 122, 124). Inserted between the latter and external tanks (30,34) surrounding them are flooding troughs (144, 146), which in a raised flooding position in the treatment chambers maintain a liquid level located above the conveying rollers, on the other hand in a lowered stand-by position clear the inlet and outlet gaps of the treatment chambers.
