PURPOSE:To save communication time between a host and an IC card and to reduce the burden of the host when data already written in the IC card are tabulated, with respect to the subject method in which the total sum of the data for every prescribed period is calculated and written in the IC card in the IC card with built-in processor and memory. CONSTITUTION:The IC card has a processor 1 and a memory 3. Data are written in the memory 3, the total sum of the data for every prescribed period is calculated and written in the memory 3. In the summing up method of the IC card, the processor 1 detects updating for the respective prescribed period and calculates the total sum of the data for the respective prescribed period. |
