The splint for holding in place and/or immobilizing a body part is characterized in that it is modular and can be used in its entirety or in part according to the area to be immobilized by means of a system of tear-away elements (8, 9, 10, 11, 12) on the panel (P) which defines separate elements (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and a system of cut out elements (A, B, C, D) necessary for holding in place a given limb. A self-adhesive band, or a securing system with interpenetration of fibres or any other securing method (Z) serves to hold the splint(s) in place. The splint according to the invention is especially useful for holding in place and/or immobilizing fractures and traumatisms of body parts.
