PURPOSE:To prevent the impairment of the natural feel in performance expression arising from the selection of the musical tone generation channels to be allotted to performance information even when the multitimbre electronic musical instrument receives the performance information from plural performance information generators varying in kinds. CONSTITUTION:The assigner of the multitimbre electronic musical instrument which receives the performance information from the plural performance information generators and selects the musical tone generation channels to be allotted to the performance information is constituted by having a means for grouping the performance information from the plural performance information generators in accordance with the kinds of these generators and determining the requirements for selecting the musical tone generation channels by each of the respective groups and a means for selecting the musical tone generation channels in accordance with the determined requirements for selection in the selected group.
