A method of producing component parts of a fluid chamber wherein the peripheral portion of a steel plate (1) held by a pair of rotary molds is thickened using a roller prior to and for the purpose of forming a seal ring groove (14) in the outer peripheral surface of the steel plate having a circular outer peripheral edge. After a preliminary thick portion (11) is formed along the peripheral edge of the steel plate, a main thick portion (12) is formed along the outer peripheral surface of the steel plate, the main thick portion (12) having a thickness large enough to form the seal ring groove. Thereby, the steel plate is prevented from buckling under the pressing force imparted by the roller during the formation of the main thick portion.
