<p>PURPOSE: To simply manufacture a camshaft while securing characteristics favorable to the effects of a valve head curve by providing the other component of swivel joints to the outside of a hollow cylinder and providing a ring which connects the both and partitions a recess in the end side in a range between a cam and the end side of the hollow cylinder. CONSTITUTION: The connection permitting the relative turning in such an angled range as being formed by extending a recess 7 in the circumferential direction is present between a cam 3 and a hollow cylinder 2. If an arrow is supposed in the rotation direction of a shaft 1, swivel joins 7, 8 entrain the cam 3 in their rotation so that an affixed upper valve is deviated to an opening position by the cam 4 via tappet. As soon as the head of the cam 4 leaves from the tappet, the force of a valve closing spring allows the cam 4 to turn freely from an entrainment member 2 so that the both side edges of the recess 7 and the entrainment part 8 including the interval between them are in contact together. The relative turning of the cam 3 is attenuated by a throttle hole 9.</p> |
