PURPOSE:To start a discharge lamp in a simple structure, and after that, to light stably the discharge lamp as well as to build up the light output rapidly. CONSTITUTION:The lamp voltage is detected by a DC detecting circuit 13, and according to the resultant signal, a switching regulator control IC 19 is controlled through a comparison circuit 24 and a constant current circuit 26 so as to make coincidence of a standard signal adding the output signals of a lamp current operation circuit 21 and a bias circuit 22, and the output signal of the input DC circuit detecting circuit 23 of an inverter. The oscillation frequency of the inverter is thus controlled. |
