AUTOMATIC SEARCHING SYSTEM FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCING SYSTEM

The automatic searching system for using in a record/play or play system of a record medium (6) with a number of recorded programs comprises an instruction means (1) for designating an automatic search mode, a driving means (2) for driving the record medium, a pick-up means (3), a detection means (4) for detecting the signal of the record medium, and a control means (5). The searching system discriminates the presence of recorded programs on the record medium by picking up signals from the medium, converting them to binary signals to compare them with reference in some prescribed terms. The end of a program or recorded region and then the start position of it are found. The search process includes appropriate stepwise acceleration/deceleration of advance speed of the record medium.
