PURPOSE:To obtain a nonwoven fabric of carbon filament having excellent gas diffusibility and flexibility by spinning pitch in a delivery velocity ratio of gas and pitch in a specific range by using a spinning device having an delivery outlet projected by specific length from a gas nozzle end part, laminating, infusibilizing and carbonizing. CONSTITUTION:Optically isotropic pitch 1 and/or optically anisotropic pitch 2 is fed to a pitch storage part 3 of a spinning device equipped with a delivery hole 5 having a delivery tip part projected by 0.01-2.0mm from the end of a gas nozzle 7 and melted through a heater 4. Then, optically isotropic carbon filament, optically anisotropic carbon filament or conjugate filament thereof is stably spun while spraying a gas from the gas nozzle 7 along the delivery direction of spinning pitch in the ratio of gas delivery velocity and pitch delivery velocity of 1-10m/mg. The filament is laminated, infusibilized and carbonized to give the objective nonwoven fabric of carbon filament. |
