Fuel injection device for IC engine - has mechanical timing element to maintain time interval between pre-injection and main injection

The device has an injection nozzle, supplied with a full volume by a pump via a pressure line. A small part of this volume is for preinjecting the larger part for later main injection. There is a control device for injection timing. The control device (5) has an associated mechanical time function element (3) of a set constant phase time. It is started up when the preinjection begins, and prevents main injection, while it is running. The element is formed by a mass spring system, and is moved into initial position before the injection phase, by part of the fuel supplied by the pump.
