摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent dielectric breakdown due to high voltage or the danger of electric shock upon occurrence of fault by a constitution wherein a control means modifies connection of unit batteries when an electric automobile, employing a drive power supply comprising a plurality of unit batteries connected in series, is subjected to impact on the body thereof. CONSTITUTION:Unit batteries 81-8n are connected in series to constitute a high voltage power supply circuit 10 and a main switch L is turned ON to drive a motor 6 through normal close contacts 18, 19b, 20b and an accelerator 2. Speed is controlled by stepping an accelerator 2 pedal 3. The unit batteries 81-8n are classified by means of a plurality of switches 19, 20... (only two are shown on the drawing). The switches 19, 20... comprise coils 19a, 20a excited by a unit battery 8n and the normal close contacts 19b, 20b. When a sensor 16 detects an external force higher than a predetermined level caused by impact during travel, an operating circuit 17 stores the impact value and holds the switch 18 in open state. Consequently, the coils 19a, 20a are de-energized and the contacts 19b, 20b are opened. According to the constitution, high power supply voltage is lowered resulting in prevention of dielectric breakdown and electric shock.
