PURPOSE:To form a compact, thin optical head by using a gate means for changing the inclination of a photodetector, and adjusting the photodetector. CONSTITUTION:An objective lens 2 condenses the light emitted from a semiconductor laser 1 on a light recording medium 3. A photodetector 4 has both function for reflecting the light emitted from the semiconductor laser 1 into the direction of the objective lens 2 and the function for detecting the reflected light from the light recording medium 3, which has the information of pits and which has passed through the objective lens 2 again. A supporting member 5 supports the photodetector 4. A gate adjusting means 6 adjusts the inclination of an optical axis directed toward the objective lens 2. Thus, the optical axis can be adjusted by adjusting the inclination of only the photodetector 4. The adjustment can be performed within the smaller space. Thus, the optical head which can be made compact and thin is formed. |
