<p>PURPOSE:To decrease a tape running load and to improve running characteristics by forming a hard diamond-state carbon film whose main component is carbon on a slinging contact surface with a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:An inlet-side guide roller 14 and an outlet-side guide roller 16 have the rotary roller constitution. Diamond-state carbon films 34 are formed on the surfaces of slant posts 31 and 32 which are non-rotating tape guide posts and tension posts 33. Furthermore, limiter posts 35 and 36 are non-rotating tape guide posts. The diamond-state carbon films 34 are formed on the surfaces. Namely, the hard diamond-state carbon films 34 whose main component is carbon are formed on the sliding contact surfaces of the non-rotating tape-guide posts with a magnetic tape. The tape-guide posts are in sliding contact with the magnetic tape running at a constant speed and regulate the running path of the magnetic tape. Thus, the tape running load is decreased, and the running characteristics are improved.</p> |
