PURPOSE:To make it possible to insert an element to be an upper hierarchy into a certain element in hierarchical structure by simple operation by regarding the hierarchy of an element selected by inserting another element into an upper hierarchy as the hierarchy just under the upper hierarchy concerned and displaying new hierarchical structure obtained by the insertion of the element on an editing screen. CONSTITUTION:An operator selects an element by positioning a cursor on a certain element (one or two or more) on the editing screen 51 and instructs the insertion of the element. An insertion processing part 2 changes the selected element and its reference relation in a data area 4 in accordance with the instruction. Thereby another element is inserted into the upper hierarchy of the selected element and the hierarchy of the selected element is set up as the hierarchy just under the inserted hierarchy. Then the processing part 2 displays the new hierarchical structure obtained after the inserting processing on the screen 51. Consequently an optional element can be inserted into a required position on the screen 51, the edition of the hierarchical structure can easily be executed, the generation of malfunction can be prevented, and operability can be improved. |
