A device for switchgear arranged in an air-encapsulated cabinet, in which a first group of voltage-carrying current paths 1 can be connected by means of a permanently installed electrical switch 3 to a second group of current paths 2 where the operating mechanisms of the electrical switch are arranged to be accessible from the front of the casing, comprises at least one earthing switch 7 which can be switched between an on and an off position, which is arranged so that in its on position it earths the abovementioned second group of current paths. The electrical switch 3 is installed on an air-tight screening plate 4 arranged between the first and the second groups of current paths 1, 2. The electrical switch, the earthing switch 7 and a front cover 13 in the cabinet are interconnected so that the earthing switch can only be connected and the front cover can only be opened when the electrical switch is disconnected. In addition the electrical switch cannot be connected when the earthing switch is in the on position. The distance between the current paths in the first group and the screw 23 for connecting the cable 19 to the second group of current paths amounts to at least 50 cm. <IMAGE> |
