PURPOSE:To form an image faithful to a latent image by development even in any environment by increasing the bulk density of a magnetic body by treatment and specifying the relation between the content of the magnetic body in a toner and the wt. average particle diameter of the toner. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic toner contg. a magnetic body of a metal oxide having 10-40emu/g magnetization (sigmas) in a magnetic field of 1kOe and 0.05-0.5mum diameter in the horizontal direction is produced, the magnetic body is treated so as to increase the bulk density and the content (wt.%) of the magnetic body in the toner is regulated so as to satisfy an equation Wt=-(10/3)Dt+(72+ or -3) (where Wt is the content of the magnetic body and Dt is <=7mum wt. average particle diameter of the toner). A high-quality image having superior uniformity of image density is obtd. with superior fine line and gradation reproducibility without causing ground stain. |
