PURPOSE:To eliminate complicated manipulations by recognizing that a vehicle is returned to a specific starting point based on the data of the present position operated from the direction an the size of a direction vector and the distance sensor and the stopping time, and correcting the measuring error of a direction detector. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle starts from a point P0 to a point P1 separated at a distance l in the north direction. Then, the vehicle runs the distance l in the south direction to return to the staring point P0. At this time, the running locus operated by a running data display device is P0 P2 for the first run P0 P1, and P2 P3 for the returning run P1 P0. In other words, although the vehicle starts from the point P0 an returns to the point P0, the device calculates the current position as the point P2. Therefore, the calculating result of the current position is shifted by x=x3, y=y3. The detecting error of a direction detector is corrected by a vector P3P0/2l wherein P3P0 is a position correcting vector to correct the shift. Accordingly, the running information with improved reliability is displayed. |
