In the mfr. of manhole covers with a concrete filling which is compacted on a vibratory table, the novelty is that the manhole cover is supported by permanently elastic buffers on the vibratory table. Appts. for carrying out the process includes a support ring which has the same dimensions as the compaction frame and which has permanently elastic interlays on its support face for the manhole cover. ADVANTAGE - The buffers reduce noise without affecting compaction quality.
