The temp.-iresponsive component (8) sits in a flat indentation (12) in an endface (11) of the sensor housing (1). The component (8) has no covering so that it can be completely exposed to the flow of the medium to be measured. The terminal wires (6,7) of the component extend at a distance along the outside of the housing to contact tags (2). These wires are only insulated close to the component itself. The component is pref. a negative temp. coefft. pill. The connecting wires are of poor heat conductive material. The component can be protected by a bowed piece with two shanks which can be clipped on. ADVANTAGE - Responds rapidly to temp. changes but is sufficiently insensitive to vibrations to be installed in a motor vehicle.
