PURPOSE:To enable high-speed printing by low energy by supporting an ink sheet for thermal transfer recording and an image-receiving sheet for thermal transfer recording during a time when electricity is conducted through the conductive layer of the ink sheet for thermal transfer recording, in which the conductive layer and an ink layer containing a thermal diffusive dyestuff are laminated on a supporter in the order, or after electricity is conducted through the conductive layer and forming a picture to the image-receiving sheet for thermal transfer recording through heating. CONSTITUTION:In an ink sheet for thermal transfer recording, a conductive layer 2 and an ink layer 3 are laminated on a support 1 in the order. The ink sheet for thermal transfer recording and an image-receiving sheet for thermal transfer recording are superposed and heated so that the ink layer of the former and the image receiving layer of the latter are brought into contact in order to form a picture to an image-receiving body. Electricity is conducted through the conductive layer and the conductive layer is preheated before heating or during heating at the time. A method, in which the conductive layer 2 exposed to the surface of the ink sheet for thermal transfer recording is brought into contact with a wind-up roll 4 and an unwind roll 5 and electricity is conducted through the conductive layer 2 while using the wind-up roll 4 and the unwind roll 5 as common electrodes, is employed as a method, in which currents are conducted through the conductive layer. |
