PURPOSE:To easily improve the determination efficiency by measuring the difference of the output levels of a glucose sensor between a state having low dissolved oxygen concentration in a membrane having immobilized glucose oxidase and a state having high dissolved oxygen concentration. CONSTITUTION:A glucose sensor 6 is produced by forming a membrane having immobilized glucose oxidase on an ion-sensitive part of an ion--sensitive field- effect transistor capable of detecting the pH variation in a solution. A specimen solution 4 is put into a determination cell 3 and N2 gas is supplied from an N2 bomb 2 to fill the cell 3 with N2 gas in about 1min and eliminate O2 in the solution 4 and the enzyme-immobilized membrane. The output of the sensor 6 in the above state is measured and used as a back-ground output. Air is introduced from an air bomb 1 into the cell 3 in place of N2 gas until the cell 3 is filled with air to increase the O2 concentration in the solution 4 and the enzyme-immobilized membrane to a saturated state in about 3 min and the output of the sensor 6 in the above state is measured as the response output. The glucose concentration is determined from the difference between the response output and the back-ground output. |
