Ski safety binding according to Claim 1 of the Main Patent, including a retention jaw intended for immobilising the front end of a boot, and mounted so as to be articulated on a fixed support, while being held in its normal position by an elastic mechanism. This binding includes a system capable of acting on this mechanism if there is considerable friction between the boot sole and the ski. This system includes a lever (16), a first branch (17) of which is mounted movably on the top of the ski under the location for the sole of the boot, so as to be moved by the latter, on one or the other side, in the event of a lateral displacement of the front of the boot and if there is a high degree of friction between the latter and the ski. As for the second branch (17) of this lever (16), it is associated with the elastic mechanism of the binding and is capable of acting, upon displacement of this lever, on a small bearing plate (9) applied to a fixed flat portion (6) oriented rearwards, so as to reduce the degree of elastic resistance of this mechanism. <IMAGE>
