PURPOSE:To prevent the defect of a product due to the deviation, separation or breakage of the sheet for decorating in the preforming and molding thereof by a method in which a female mold is provided with a vacuum-sucking hole and also has the recessed part which surrounds partially the cavity part on its parting face, and then the recessed part is allowed to communicate with a vacuum-sucking means. CONSTITUTION:The sheet 7 for decorating is placed on a female mold A, and a platen 6 is superimposed thereon, thereby softening the sheet for decorating. When said sheet is sucked to vacuum through a vacuum path 3, the adsorption into the recessed part 2 on the parting face of the female mold occurs, and continuously the deformation along the shape of the cavity of the sheet for decorating occurs. The platen 6 is removed and a male mold 1B is combined therewith and then said molds are clamped. Next, molten plastic is injected into the mold cavity, and when the decorating is achieved simultaneously with molding, since the periphery of the sheet for decorating is fixed into the recessed part of the female mold, the whole sheet is not deviated. |
